David Schuman-
Chief Speed Officer
As owner and founder of Schuman’s Speed
Center, David has trained over 400 athletes in speed, quickness and
agility training and has trained numerous collegiate, pro and top
scholastic athletes. His athletes and students have competed at the
highest levels and have trained with him to become faster and stronger.
He is the author of three training manuals
"60 Days to Explosive Sport Specific Speed!","30
Days to Unbelievable Speed For Sport", and
"Explosive, Awesome Speed In 14 Days".
His team training with Saddle Brook High
School and Saddle Brook Recreation Football has netted two of the quickest
and most talented programs in North Jersey. Both teams will be competing
this year for league and state championships. He has trained numerous all
–state and all-county athletes in softball, baseball, track and field,
football, field hockey, basketball and soccer. His collegiate athletes all
tested in 2003 in the top 5% of their associated position in their sport.
David
has been a highly successful athlete and coach. As a coach David is
currently an assistant on Saddle Brook HS 10-1 football state semi-final
and league championship team. His defensive backs led the league with 21
interceptions and had several athletes make all-state, all-county, and
all-league teams. He is also the associate head coach of track at Saddle
Brook, having help led the boys to this years indoor county championships
and his top girl athlete won the county championships in the pentathlon in
2003 and is second team all state in the triple jump.
As an
athlete David prospered in high school and college. He was a starting
linebacker on the University of Connecticut's nationally ranked football
team and on the track has scored over 6400 points in the Decathlon in
2002. He was all-academic all-Yankee conference in football and received
numerous athletic and student-athlete awards while at the University of
Connecticut.
In High School David was a State Champion
High Hurdler and was nationally ranked in the Pentathlon. As a football
player David was named First Team All-American by Bigger Faster Stronger
Magazine in 1992 and was also named to several all-state, all-county, and
all-area teams.
David has a master’s degree from the
University of Connecticut and is currently studying for a second master’s
in Physical Education and Biomechanics from the prestigious Columbia
University’s, Teacher’s College.
David's experience and knowledge has
helped him to develop the best speed, power, weight lifting and
conditioning program suited each athlete's need and their sport. David is
a Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
Howard Schuman-Executive Advisor
Howard is recognized as one the most successful track and field coaches
throughout the United State. He was inducted into the NJ Coaches Hall of
Fame in 2000 and has coached speed and conditioning for athletes for over
30 years. Howard has over 100 league, county and state championships as
head coordinator of Saddle Brook High School Track and Field and has
coached hundreds of league, county and state championships.
Howard's athletes have gone on to track and field fame at such schools
like Syracuse, Duke, Vanderbilt, UCONN, Rider, Colorado, Rutgers, FDU, and
many others.
Howard has also coached at the collegiate level coaching at Columbia
University in the mid-1990's. His experience and knowledge on developing
speed, speed technique, and conditioning is widely recognized and he is
one of the leaders in coaching today.
Howard's experience and knowledge has helped to develop the most
focused speed and conditioning program out there today and will help your
athlete's reach their maximum level. Howard is a Schuman's Speed Center
Certified Trainer.
Brad Vaccaro-Executive Advisor, Director of Training, Jacksonville, Florida and North
Jersey
Former William
Paterson University Track and Field athlete and High School Standout. Brad is a
certified personal trainer and sports recovery specialist. Brad can train you
with one on one weight training or train you for speed and power. He is also a
track and field coach at Northern Valley Old Tappan in New Jersey. You must be
within the Bergen County area to receive weight training with Brad or at one of
the camp locations that he is running. Brad directed the Jacksonville
camps and Leading Edge Lacrosse Training. Available in the Summer, Fall, Winter
and Spring. Brad is a Schuman's Speed
Center Certified Trainer.
Desone Parker-Director of Training, San Francisco Region
With a Master's Degree in Sport Fitness
from the University of San Francisco, Desone has worked as the director of
recreation for USF and has coached and trained athletes in basketball
speed. He is a former basketball star and has coached many youth
basketball and High School basketball athletes.
Marcus Phills-Director of Training, Los Angeles Region
Marcus is currently the athletic director
of Los Angeles Community College and a Track athlete that has run 10.2 in
the 100 meter dash and 46 for the 400 meters. He ran our Atlanta Training
Center this summer is currently training athletes in Los Angeles. Marcus
is a Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
Al
Troyer-Director of Training, Dallas Region
Head Track and Field
Coach at Lake Highlands High School, Al is a well known speed specialist.
He has coached athletes that have gone on to receive scholarships at
schools like the University of Texas, SMU, Baylor and many more. His
athletes have won many league, county, state, and class championships.
His track and field teams are among the state’s top program and one of the
Dallas areas elite programs. Al is a USATF certified coach. Al is a Schuman's Speed Center Certified
Trainer.
Quincy Bryant-Director of Training, Washington DC and Durham, NC
The former Hampton University star is
currently the head strength, speed and conditioning coach at Sanderson HS
in North Carolina. He ran the Washington DC training center in the summer
of 2003 and is also a standout wrestling, track and football coach. He has
trained thousands of athletes is speed and strength development. Quincy is
a Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
Jimmy Levitske-Director of Training, Shore Jersey Region
Jimmy directed our Shore Jersey location
in Long Branch and is a standout coach and trainer. He has coached some of
the top track and field athletes in New Jersey at Hackensack High School
and was himself a top flight pole vaulter in college. He has coached many
state champions and division 1 athletes and is one of the best
personalities on the team. Jimmy is a Schuman's Speed Center Certified
Trainer.
Bernadette Price-Director of Training, South Jersey Region

Rob Decarlo-Director of Training, West Jersey Region
As director of our training in West
Jersey, Rob is a valuable asset having coached hundreds of top flight
athletes in track and field. He is a speed specialist and is the Don Bosco
Prep High School's Track and Field Coach and has trained 100's of
all-state, all-county and all-east performers. Don Bosco is among the top
track and field programs in the United States. Rob is a Schuman's Speed
Center Certified Trainer.
Dodie Donnell- Assistant Director of Training, Northern New
Jersey
Dodie worked our Shore Area Training this
past summer and is the sprint coach for Hackensack High School and has
coached 100's of state, county, and league champions in the sprints. He is
a former University of Nebraska football player and NFL player and starred
on several of Tom Osbourne's national ranked football teams. Dodie is a
Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
Ron Grigg-Assistant Director of Training, Jacksonville, FL,
Director of Personal Speed Training, Jacksonville, FL
Ron
is our associate director at our Jacksonville location and is currently the head
track and field coach at Jacksonville University, after serving as the associate
head coach last season under Becky Motley. Grigg returned to JU last season
after serving as an assistant coach for 18 months at Kansas State. Ron
is one of the south’s foremost experts on speed, quickness and agility
development.
As
Head Coach at Jacksonville University he was responsible for recruiting Monique
Tubbs, the school’s first national champion and a three-time All-American.
Grigg also helped the men’s team (the program was dropped in 2001) finish
second in the Atlantic Sun Conference and the women’s team third in 1999.
Under his tutelage, Tamsin Anstey set the conference record en route to the
400-meter hurdles title, while Lysa Lee won the long jump on the women’s side
and Marcus Bodah and Drew Domoto won conference championships on the men’s
side.
While
at Kansas State, Grigg served as the team’s recruiting coordinator, sprints
and hurdles coach and assistant meet director. He also served as a speed
consultant to the Wildcat strength and conditioning program as well as the KSU
football team and coached 100-meter All-American and Big 12 champion Terrance
Newman.
Prior
to coming to Jacksonville in 1998, Grigg was an assistant coach at Division III
power Wheaton (Mass.) College. Under Grigg’s tutelage, nine Wheaton athletes
earned a total of 21 All-America honors, while capturing two individual NCAA
championships and two national titles in the 4x400-meter relay. In addition, the
1997 men’s team finished seventh in the nation and the women’s squad
finished as NCAA runners-up in both indoors and outdoors in 1998.
Grigg
began his coaching career at Carver High School in 1994 where he served as the
head cross country and track and field coach for one year before assuming an
assistant coaching position at Coppin State College in 1995-96. Grigg earned his
B.A. in political science from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth in
1993. He holds USATF Level 2 coaching certifications in sprints, hurdles, jumps,
throws and multi-events, and is a certified Level 1 instructor.

Pete
Asimakis-Administrator and Youth Training Coordinator
Pete joined our staff after seeing the
results of his Saddle Brook Junior Football athletes and has since run our
fall training in North Jersey and has helped to build our name within the
Youth Athlete circles from seeing the results of his athletes first hand.
His enthusiasm is electric and the kids love him. Pete is the head coach
of the senior Junior Falcon Football Team that won the Super Bowl
Championship in 2003. Pete is a Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
John
Laneri- Assistant Director, North Jersey
Coach Laneri is head strength coach for
Saddle Brook High School and an assistant football coach and track coach
at Saddle Brook. John's athletes at Saddle Brook have received numerous
all-state, all-county, and all-league awards in his 10+ years of coaching.
He has coached as a part of a staff that has won many track and field and
football championships. John is a Schuman's Speed Center Certified
Trainer.
Jeff
Riddick-Assistant Director, North Jersey
Coach Riddick is one of the top sprint coaches in north
Jersey. He is
currently the head boys track and field and cross country coach at Queen
of Peace High School in New Jersey. He has coached Janine Davis, who is
All-American and has coached his girls to a state championship.He was a top notch sprinter at
Montclair State University running mid 21's in the 200 and was a state
champion in high school in the 100 and 200 meters. He works our Saddle
Brook location and is an expert working with our elite collegiate
athletes. Coach Riddick is an athlete favorite and is a great addition to
our speed staff. Jeff is a Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
Tim
Parisi-Assistant Director, Wyckoff, NJ
Tim was an all-state football athlete and
All-League Track Athlete at Saddle Brook High School and is currently
assisting our directors in their training. Tim is a physical education
major in college. Tim was also an assistant coach on the Super Bowl
Champion Junior Falcon football team. Tim is a Schuman's Speed Center
Certified Trainer.
Bob
Napolitano-Assistant Director, Wyckoff, NJ
Bob was an all-league quarterback at
Saddle Brook HS and played in the prestigious Bergen County all-star game.
He was also top track and field athlete at Saddle Brook HS and is a
physical education major at Kean University. Bob was also an assistant
coach on the Super Bowl Champion Junior Falcon football team. Bob is
Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
Kathleen
Madden-Los Angeles Area Director
Former Rutgers University volleyball star.
She directed our San Diego training in the summer of 2003 and serves as an
assistant and director for this summer's Los Angeles training. She is
excellent with plyometric and jumping explosion development. Kathleen is a
Schuman's Speed Center Certified Trainer.
